SoAzCINEMA is a Southern Arizona nonprofit coalition of independent news and entertainment creators committed to supporting original, creator-driven work beyond the limitations of mainstream corporate media. We exist to preserve creative freedom, expand access to production pathways, and cultivate a community where diverse perspectives and unconventional voices can thrive.
OUR VISION
We envision a region where independent creators have the same opportunities for visibility, distribution, and sustainability as major studios and networks. Our long-term goal is to build a thriving ecosystem that elevates Southern Arizona’s storytellers, strengthens rural representation, and brings authentic local voices to global platforms.
OUTCOMES
We actively work to:
• Increase the number of independently produced films, series, and news features.
• Provide creators with financing guidance and production support.
• Offer access to distribution platforms — including global streaming networks.
• Create sustainable revenue pathways for artists.
• Strengthen collaboration between filmmakers, journalists, actors, and technicians.
• Expand content representation across rural and overlooked regions of Southern Arizona.
These outcomes support the creation of personal stories that counter misinformation, deepen understanding, and reflect the lived experiences of real people.
